To deliver with the Google Drive workaround, you have to make a folder public and paste its link into a PDF. From that point the link is out of your hands. Anyone who finds it reaches your whole folder, and you have no way to know it happened or to stop it.

Your Drive is never set to public. Files stream through your page only when a buyer opens their download, so your folders stay locked down and there is no public URL pointing at your work. The buyer link is long and non-guessable, so no one can change it to reach a different product or account.
Like any link, the one in your PDF can be forwarded. The difference is where it leads. It only opens the page you control, not your storage, and the files behind it are served on short-lived links that expire. A forwarded link is not a copy of your files.
Monitored, with controls you can use
Every open and download is recorded, including buyers who are still using an old link. If something looks wrong, you are not stuck watching it happen. You can slow a link down with rate limits, block downloads from regions you do not sell to, and in the worst case retire a link entirely. When you replace a link, we generate a fresh PDF and sync it to your Etsy listing, so your delivery keeps working while the leaked link goes dead.
